The dusky warbler is a leaf warbler that breeds in the east Palearctic. The adult has an unstreaked brown back and buff underparts, with a prominent whitish eyebrow and a fine, pointed bill; young birds are more olive-tinged above. It is strongly migratory and winters in South and Southeast Asia, and prone to vagrancy as far as western Europe in October, despite a 3,000 km distance from its breeding grounds (Wikipedia, general species account).
The nest is built low in a bush and five or six eggs are laid. The song is a monotonous whistle and the call a harsh check, often the first clue that this typically skulking species is present away from the breeding grounds (Wikipedia, general species account).
