The golden bush robin is a songbird of the flycatcher family, 14–15 cm long and known for its golden colour; it was first discovered in 1845 by the British naturalist Brian Houghton Hodgson. Males mainly have a brownish-olive back and a bright yellow-orange underside, while females have the same colour pattern but duller and less vibrant (Wikipedia, general species account).
It is insectivorous and hunts mainly close to the ground. The breeding season in Pakistan is May to June, and the nests are of compacted moss and grass lined with hair, wool and feathers; females tend to lay three or four eggs, incubated for 14 or 15 days. The lifespan is around 3.8 years (Wikipedia, general species account).
