The golden-fronted leafbird is a green-bodied leafbird with a black face and throat bordered yellow, a yellowish-orange forehead and a blue moustache line. It has dark brown eyes and blackish feet and bill, and lacks the blue flight feathers and tail sides of the blue-winged leafbird. The black on the face is slightly duller in females, and young birds have a plain green head. Southern populations have a narrower yellow border to the face and a duller forehead (Wikipedia, general species account).
It lives in forest canopy, deciduous forest, woodland and scrub, and often in wooded gardens and plantations. It is highly acrobatic, often clinging upside down to twigs to glean insects and spiders, and also feeds on nectar and berries. It often imitates the calls of other birds. It builds its nest in a tree and lays two or three eggs (Wikipedia, general species account).
