The mainland serow, of which the Himalayan serow is a form, is a goat-antelope of the Himalayas, Southeast Asia and China. Only males carry the light-coloured horns, about 150mm long and curving slightly back. Both sexes stand around 91cm at the shoulder and weigh about 91kg. The coat has bristly, coarse guard hairs covering the underfur to varying degrees (Wikipedia, general species account).
In the Nepal Himalayas it prefers elevations of 2,500 to 3,500m. The serow is territorial and lives alone or in small groups, with peaks of activity by day and by night. A female gives birth to a single young after a gestation of about eight months. The sources opened here do not describe the Himalayan form separately, and Nepal's 2011 list has no matching entry, so no status is stated.
