Russell's kukri snake is a colubrid native to South Asia, very closely related to Oligodon arnensis, from which it has recently been separated. Hatchlings are usually brighter in colour, with faded and less prominent cross stripes but distinct white margins. Hatchlings measure about 181 to 193mm from snout to vent (Wikipedia, general species account).

Its diet includes small lizards and eggs. A clutch contains four or five remarkably elongated eggs, measured at about 36 by 10mm. It is found in Nepal, northern India and north-east Pakistan, and possibly in parts of Bangladesh. The Reptile Database lists Nepal first. The sources opened give nothing on adult size or habitat.
