Scutiger nyingchiensis is a toad of the family Megophryidae described by Fei in 1977 from Nyingchi, Tibet. Males are 41 to 56mm and females 55 to 74mm, males lack a vocal sac, and the toes are webbed. It lives at 2,730 to 4,560m near forested and grassy streams in the Himalaya of south-eastern Tibet and north-western Nepal, and possibly Bhutan, with no confirmed Indian records (Wikipedia, general species account).
Eggs are laid under logs or stones in slow streams and pools, and tadpoles overwinter. The species is locally common, though water diversion and agrochemical pollution threaten it (Wikipedia, general species account).
