Southeast Asia (as given in the account opened)

The great woolly horseshoe bat is a horseshoe bat that the account opened describes as endemic to Southeast Asia. Several former populations have since been split off as separate species: the northern woolly horseshoe bat, the Malaysian woolly horseshoe bat, Andersen's woolly horseshoe bat and the Selangor woolly horseshoe bat (Wikipedia, general species account).

That account does not place the species in Nepal, and the Mammal Diversity Database lists only Indonesia, so the Nepal record probably refers to one of the split species. It is flagged for checking. No size, diet or roosting information was found, so none is stated. Nationally Least Concern (Nepal National Red List 2011).
