Garrulax pectoralis
Habitat
Subtropical or tropical moist lowland and montane forest
Range
Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Nepal, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam; introduced to Hawaii
The greater necklaced laughingthrush, Pterorhinus pectoralis, was described by John Gould in 1836 and belongs to the family Leiothrichidae. It lives in moist lowland and montane forest from Nepal and India east to Vietnam, and has been introduced to Hawaii. It was moved from Garrulax to Pterorhinus after a 2018 molecular study (Wikipedia, general species account).
It is usually dominant in mixed-species foraging flocks, and the lesser necklaced laughingthrush may mimic it. The source gives no size, appearance, diet or breeding detail (Wikipedia, general species account).
