The Himalayan bluetail, also called the Himalayan red-flanked or orange-flanked bush robin, is a small passerine formerly classed in the thrush family and now generally considered an Old World flycatcher. It is closely related to the red-flanked bluetail and was generally treated as a subspecies of it in the past, differing in its migratory behaviour (the red-flanked bluetail is a long-distance migrant), the more intense blue of adult males and the greyer colour of females and juveniles. While currently under review, the taxon is not recognised as a species by BirdLife International (Wikipedia, general species account).
