Oreocryptophis porphyraceus
Habitat
Mid to upper-elevation forested hills; leaf litter, under moss and under rocks and logs
The red bamboo rat snake, also called the black-banded trinket snake, is the only member of the genus Oreocryptophis, formerly placed in Elaphe. The head is small, sharp and squarish, and the colour pattern has red or orange with black bands or stripes. It is found in mid to upper elevations of forested hills in South-east Asia, from evergreen tropical to dry seasonal forest depending on subspecies and locality (Wikipedia, general species account).
It spends most of its time hiding in leaf litter, under moss carpets, or under rocks and logs.
