Range

Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Southeast Asia and Tibet

The wedge-tailed green pigeon, also called the Kokla green pigeon, is greenish yellow with a wedge-shaped tail. The wedge tail is absent in females, because the plumage differs between the sexes, as typical of green pigeons. It ranges across Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Tibet and Vietnam (Wikipedia, general species account).

Local names recorded in 1913 included Harial in the language of the Terai at the time, Sang-pong in Lepcha and Daorep-galou in Kachari, though some of these may refer to the pin-tailed green pigeon. The account opened gives no size, diet or breeding detail, so none are stated.
