Prey caught by dropping to the ground or short sallies from a perch
The white-tailed stonechat is a bird of the family Muscicapidae, very similar in plumage to the European stonechat. The male has a black head, a white collar and a bright rufous chest patch, with a dark back and wings, and white on the wing coverts and rump, which may not be visible when the tail is folded (Wikipedia, general species account).
Typical of stonechats, it catches prey by dropping to the ground or making short sallies from a perch. The key breeding season is March to May, when it makes a cup-shaped nest in natural depressions on the ground among plants such as lotuses or tamarisk. The cached account does not state the range (Wikipedia, general species account).
